Creative Writing Exploration
This program is ideal for hesitant (and even recalcitrant) writers. It will consist of interactive and engaging activities, storytelling, direct instruction and guided practice. Topics include establishing plots, characters and setting as well as word choice and organization. The most important goal is to develop a more fervent love of writing. There is no required preparatory work or homework for this class.There are optional assignments for students interested in growing and learning more. All sessions are online, via Zoom. Passionate Writers
Passionate writers engage in activities that acuminate their skills and foster their love of the written word. Areas of focus are Sentence Fluency and Word Choice with the goal of cultivating descriptive language, specifically in employing similes, metaphors and other literary devices. The class will include short writing assignments. Grades 5 - 10. Limit 10 per session.

Aspiring Novelists
Are you currently working on a novel? Would you like to be? This class will focus on the nuance and minutiae of creative writing with the intent of publishing. Entering grades 8-12. Limit 6.

Public Speaking Salons
Being comfortable in front of an audience and able to express your ideas concisely are valuable skills to possess. Being able to capture the undivided attention of your audience and keep them in the palm of your hand as you rally them to action are skills that can transform both the audience and the speaker. In the legacy of the salons hosted during the Enlightenment, these Public Speaking Salons foster the oratory abilities of students ages 10 to 16. Learn how to project your voice, gesticulate effectively, end your sentences definitively and engage your audience. Preparatory work is provided. Salons are independent and students are welcome to come to as many or as few as they like. All sessions are online, via Zoom.
